“The latest voice in the dialogue about what the future of classical music might look like” – The Arts Desk
Following a sold-out debut at The Bomb Factory in Marylebone and a guest appearance on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, ANONIMI launched its residency series in 2026 as Ladbroke Hall’s first orchestra and first classical artists in residence. ANONIMI champions new music through collaborations with contemporary composers. In 2027, the orchestra will premiere a new work by Angela Luq, commissioned for its European tour.
ANONIMI is a UK registered charity that provides a valuable platform for the next generation of performers: recent graduates and students from some of the UK’s most prestigious music schools, including the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
ANONIMI is dedicated to bringing the life-changing benefits of classical music to everyone, regardless of background or circumstance. Classical music is a universal language, and through orchestral and chamber performances and educational initiatives, we aim to spark creativity and give everyone the chance to experience its impact. Our work goes beyond concerts to include informative and enriching events that explore why music matters. This season ANONIMI presented their first concert-talk as part of their residency at Ladbroke Hall, ‘How the Brain Responds to Music’, hosted by renowned Swiss neurologist Prof. Dr. Jürg Kesselring. At Ladbroke Hall, ANONIMI’s first concert-talk, ‘How the Brain Responds to Music’, introduced a full house to the science behind music’s power. Renowned Swiss neurologist Prof. Dr. Jürg Kesselring explained what happens in the brain when we listen to and play music, while ANONIMI musicians, including pianists Martin James Bartlett, Siqian Li, violinist Eliza Wong, and founder of ANONIMI, Margarita Balanas brought the science to life with live demonstrations.
“The self-deprecating name of the orchestra references their philosophy of putting the music before anything else” – The Arts Desk
